About Us

Jacksonville has had an active sister city program since 1967. The Jacksonville Sister Cities Association (JSCA) is a member of Sister Cities International, which was formed in 1956 by President Dwight David Eisenhower.

Our Mission

Our Mission

At JSCA, we all share a common goal: To create and nurture partnerships between citizens in Jacksonville and those in our eight Sister Cities:

  • Bahia Blanca, Argentina

  • Curitiba, Brazil

  • Changwon City, South Korea

  • Murmansk, Russia

  • Nantes, France

  • Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, South Africa

  • San Juan, Puerto Rico

  • Yingkou, China

Jacksonville has three "Friendship City" relationships, which are partnerships that are less formal and more limited in scope:

  • Ningbo, China

  • Shaoxing, China

  • Suzhou, China

JSCA sponsors a variety of business, cultural, educational, and professional exchanges with its twinned cities.

Our organization is a member of Sister Cities International, whose mission is to “promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, & cooperation – one individual, one community at a time.” Our motto is "Peace Through People" and we strive to achieve this daily.

We warmly invite you to join our journey to promote peace through citizen diplomacy — and make new friends — by becoming part of our global family at JSCA.
